Job Type: Full-time, Permanent (38 hours/week) Salary: $70,000 – $77,000 per year (commensurate with skills and experience) 
Bergen is seeking a passionate and skilled Chef to join our dedicated kitchen team in a full-time capacity. We're a contemporary restaurant known for bold flavours and a refined fusion of Southeast Asian influences with modern presentation. 
Responsibilities 
- Prepare, cook, and present dishes to the restaurant’s high standards 
- Follow established recipes while also contributing ideas for specials and menu development 
- Work collaboratively with the Head Chef and kitchen team to ensure smooth service operations 
- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and organisation of the kitchen at all times 
- Assist with stock control, ordering, and inventory rotation 
- Comply with food safety and OH&S; standards at all times 
- Support junior kitchen staff with guidance and training when needed 
Required Skills & Experience 
- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent) – required 
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Chef in a full-service restaurant environment 
- Proficiency in Southeast Asian or Asian fusion cuisine strongly preferred 
- Solid understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety standards 
- Excellent knife skills and food presentation techniques 
- Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment 
- Ability to work across a rotating roster including evenings, weekends, and public holidays 
- Passion for food, consistency, and teamwork 
- Creativity and initiative in food preparation and plating 
- Understanding of dietary requirements and ability to adapt dishes accordingly
