This role also supports remote subcontract administrators in creating purchase orders.Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Establishing sources of supply, negotiating prices, delivery dates, and commitments based on authorized requisitions while complying with company policies and federal regulations.Providing procurement updates and assisting with special requirements.Following Supply Chain Procurement procedures for purchase order administration.Reviewing and processing requisitions.Preparing procurement reports.Securing bids, negotiating, and executing purchase orders in accordance with Amentum procedures.Evaluating proposals and quotations, determining responsiveness, responsibility, and eligibility, and conducting negotiations.Making procurement decisions based on value, price, schedule, and terms.Supporting business development efforts with pricing information.Maintaining procurement records per CPSR guidelines.Ensuring compliance with FAR/DFARS, agency-specific regulations, and Amentum policies for subcontracts and procurement.Supporting government audits through purchase order file reviews.Collaborating with cross-functional teams including HR, Finance, AP, and Program teams.Supporting small business goals and outreach activities.Performing purchase order closeouts.Ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety requirements.Performing other duties as assigned.QualificationsMinimum EssentialBachelor’s degree or 5+ years of equivalent experience in procurement, contract management, or business administration.Experience in procurement or related fields can substitute for college education at a ratio of 2 years of experience per year of college.Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with proficiency in SharePoint, Microsoft Office, and integrated software applications.Experience with various subcontract types (Cost-Plus, Fixed Price, T&M).DesirableExperience and competence in purchasing.Knowledge of US Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).Familiarity with SAP.Understanding of security requirements related to procurement.Experience – Minimum EssentialAt least 3 years in purchasing with technical understanding of complex programs.Experience with government and defense contracts preferred.Knowledge of project management principles.Experience negotiating and managing contracts and supplier agreements.Proficiency in word processing, databases, spreadsheets, and software applications.Ticket and LicenseDriver’s license required.Work Environment and Physical DemandsAbility to lift items up to 10kg.Primarily indoor work with frequent sitting.Statement of Work RequirementsMinimum age: 18 years.Fluent reading, writing, and speaking of English.EHS RequirementsAll personnel are responsible for safety and environmental compliance, including completing tasks safely, reporting hazards, and adhering to procedures.Quality RequirementEmployees must adhere to Amentum’s quality policies and ensure customer satisfaction through compliance with quality systems and responsibilities.For further information, contact recruitmentaustralia@amentum.com.
