The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Accountant to join our Energy & Utilities team, supporting a diverse portfolio of large-scale infrastructure projects across the power and utilities sector. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role partners closely with operational leaders to drive financial performance, deliver meaningful insights, and support strategic commercial outcomes.
Providing job security, this role supports a long-running contract with a well-established customer relationship. It is based in modern offices opened 4 years ago in Beenleigh. Central to Brisbane and the Gold Coast, it offers free street parking nearby. You'll be joining a collaborative and supportive team that values development, continuous improvement and clear communication.
What You'll Do
In this role, you will:
* Partner with operational and project teams to support financial planning, reporting and performance.
* Lead budgeting, forecasting, reporting and analysis.
* Ensure accurate revenue recognition in line with internal policy and accounting standards.
* Support cost control, billing activities, WIP management and cash flow optimisation.
* Drive continuous improvement of processes and financial controls.
* Liaise with internal and external auditors.
* Deliver insightful and meaningful financial reporting to support decision making.

What We're Looking For
You will bring:
* Degree in Finance, Accounting or Commerce.
* CA / CPA qualification (or equivalent).
* 5+ years' experience in project or management accounting, ideally in a complex corporate environment.
* Commercial awareness and strong stakeholder engagement capabilities.
* Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems (JDE desirable); exposure to Power BI/data analytics tools is an advantage.
