About the role
The Aboriginal Case Manager will manage a caseload of Aboriginal individuals, aiming to reduce reoffending risk through risk assessments, case plans, interventions, and compliance monitoring. The role focuses on developing and implementing cultural support plans, collaborating with Aboriginal justice networks, and strengthening management outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct risk assessments and prepare case plans for Aboriginal clients.
* Provide interventions and address underlying causes of offending.
* Monitor and enforce compliance with court order obligations.
* Develop and implement cultural support plans.
* Collaborate with Aboriginal justice networks and community services.
Qualifications & Experience
* Ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with members of the Victorian Aboriginal Community.
* Effective engagement with local support services and Koori Court in case management.
* Understanding of the Victorian Aboriginal Community and its social and cultural issues.
* Experience in effective case management practices, including managing risk of complex individuals.
* Experience in modelling pro‐social behaviours and influencing case‐managed individuals.
* Assertiveness and confidence in dealing with individuals exhibiting challenging behaviours.
