Townsville
JCU Vet
Inventory manager
Posted: 27 April
Offer description

Reporting to the Business Support Manager, this is a key operational role responsible for ensuring the hospital is equipped, organised, and ready to deliver safe, high-quality care.

You will take ownership of stock and procurement across the hospital, ensuring the right supplies are available at the right time, while maintaining strong inventory cost control and efficiency.

Beyond supply, you will have the opportunity to build capability in broader operational areas, including WHS, documentation, and audit processes. For the right candidate, we are committed to providing training and development in these areas, making this an excellent career step into operational compliance and safety. This is a role for someone who enjoys creating order, driving consistency, and supporting teams to perform at their best.

About Us

Based in Townsville, Queensland, JCUVet is North Queensland's only veterinary teaching hospital, referral, and specialist centre. At JCUVet, our teams deliver specialised, GP, and emergency care while training the next generation of veterinary professionals.

Behind every great outcome for a patient is a team making it happen. Our Support Services team plays a critical role in keeping the hospital running smoothly, supporting our clinicians, and ensuring our patients and clients receive the highest standard of care.

We are looking for someone organised, proactive, and team-focused to join us and help support the people who support the pets!

About you

* You're organised, reliable, and take pride in keeping things running smoothly. You enjoy creating order, managing details, and making sure nothing slips through the cracks.
* You bring experience in administration, stock control, procurement, or a similar operational role, and are confident using stock or inventory systems to manage supply efficiently and accurately.
* Experience in a veterinary, medical, or pharmaceutical environment would be highly regarded.
* You're proactive, take ownership of your work, and follow things through to completion. You enjoy supporting teams behind the scenes so they can focus on delivering great outcomes.
* Experience in WHS, compliance or audits is a bonus, but not essential. If you're keen to grow in this space, we'll support your development, making this a great opportunity to step into a broader operational or safety-focused role.

What we offer

* Competitive salary + super
* Flexible school based hours available – work during school time to suit your needs!
* Up to 14 weeks paid parental leave
* Supportive and collaborative work environment
* Access to Fitness Passport, Employee discounts and Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
* Continuous learning and development opportunities

Like to join us on our journey?

If you are excited about the prospect of advancing your career, contributing to a positive workplace culture, and truly feeling valued we want to hear from you!
