Work Health and Safety Professional

The Work Health and Safety Professional plays a pivotal role in ensuring a safe working environment within an organisation.

Responsibilities include:

* Developing and implementing Work Health and Safety strategies that align with the organisation's goals and values.
* Providing expert guidance to senior leadership on best practices, risk management, and Work Health and Safety priorities.
* Collaborating with leadership to integrate Work Health and Safety into strategic and operational planning.
* Managing workers' compensation claims and early intervention processes effectively.
* Conducting regular site audits and safety inspections to ensure facility compliance with Work Health and Safety standards and building codes.
* Leading the development, review, and implementation of Work Health and Safety policies, procedures, systems, and frameworks across the organisation.
* Ensuring policies and procedures reflect industry best practice and are inclusive of staff, volunteers, clients, and contractors.
* Performing duties in accordance with the organisation's mission, vision, and guiding principles.
* Undertaking appropriate training and complying with organisational Work Health and Safety policies and procedures.

About the Role

* Strategic thinker with experience in developing impactful Work Health and Safety strategies and frameworks.
* Proven ability to build trusted relationships at all levels of the organisation, including executive leaders.
* Minimum 5 years' experience in a Work Health and Safety leadership role, preferably with enterprise responsibility.
* Demonstrated understanding of Work Health and Safety and Workers' Compensation legislation (state and federal).
* Ability to analyse Work Health and Safety data and performance metrics to inform strategic and operational improvements.
* Strong experience in risk assessment, safety audits, and incident investigations.
* Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation skills, policy development, and reporting skills.
* Experience delivering Work Health and Safety training and leading staff consultation mechanisms.
* High level of initiative, planning, and organisational skills.
* Tertiary qualifications in Work Health and Safety or a related discipline.
