Currently, there are around 4.3 million Australians with a disability. The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) implements the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms in the country since Medicare. As an Agency, we support more than 600,000 participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability. For many Australians, this will be the first time they receive the disability support they need. The NDIA is designed to enhance the quality of life and increase economic and social participation for people with disability and will mean a peace of mind for every Australian.


A new role awaits

The Service Guidance Branch is seeking experienced APS6 Service Guidance Lead professionals to join the NDIA, as part of the Service Design Division.

We are seeking excellent communicators who have demonstrated experience in writing clear, easy to understand resources, with the ability to translate complex information into plain English. You will have high level attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to work under limited direction, guided by policies, accepted standards and ways of working. You will be confident in initiating, building, and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, while modelling the APS and NDIA values and contributing positively to the branch culture.

The Service Guidance Branch is part of the Service Design Division at the NDIA. We are a national branch with staff in VIC, NSW, SA and ACT. Our role is to develop clear, accessible guidance for all NDIA staff, participants and the wider disability community.


Where you can add value

The APS6 Service Guidance Lead will develop and update internal and external guidance, ensuring it is participant-focused, aligned with the Agency's policy positions, and meets our plain English and accessibility standards. The position is required to initiate, build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

The role requires strong written and organisation skills, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively while maintaining high work standards, adhering to governance protocols and ensuring accuracy.

Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

* Listening and responding to feedback from participants and disability peak bodies to ensure the participant is at the centre of all Agency guidance.
* Understanding of the key stages of the participant pathway, specific participant cohorts and technical processes within SAP CRM and PACE business system requirements.
* Analysing supporting data and systems to develop internal and external guidance that reflects the Agency's policy positions and best practice.
* Representing the branch as a guidance subject matter expert in multi-disciplinary teams and providing guidance expertise and advice in response to requests from the Agency's executive, Board, Minister and other Australian Government Departments in a timely manner.
* Supporting continuous improvement for all branch deliverables by maintaining best practice and identifying and implementing innovative solutions.

You will work effectively in a team, actively contributing ideas, with the ability to provide advice to the branch about opportunities for improvement. You will be passionate about contributing to and creating lasting change for Australians living with disability.

While this role is ideally performed from NSW - Newcastle, VIC - Geelong, VIC - Richmond, SA - Adelaide, remote working arrangements may be considered. We intend to fill this role in an ongoing capacity, however non-ongoing roles up to 12 months with the possibility of extension up to 2 years may be offered.

Successful candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police History check, Worker Screening check and/or Working with Children Check (where required) and provide evidence of Australian Citizenship.
