Power Tomorrow's Pilbara: Lead System Planning for a Sustainable Energy Future
As a Senior Planning Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the long term development of Horizon Power's Pilbara Network. You'll lead complex system studies, guide strategic planning, and support customer connections that enable regional growth, decarbonisation, and innovation across Western Australia's energy landscape.
What You Will Do
* Lead customer connection system studies, including steady state, dynamic and DER integration modelling.
* Develop long term network plans and short to medium term capacity plans aligned to Horizon Power's strategic goals.
* Provide expert technical advice on power system development, new technologies, renewable integration and planning standards.
* Build collaborative relationships with internal teams, customers, proponents and external stakeholders.
* Support capability uplift within the team by mentoring junior engineers and contributing to modelling knowledge sharing.
What Sets You Apart
You're a technically strong, solutions focused engineer who thrives in complex network environments and enjoys leading the way in modern power system planning. You will have:
* A degree in Electrical Engineering with significant experience in energy system planning, modelling and analysis.
* Strong system modelling capability (load flow, dynamic studies, RMS/EMT), with PowerFactory experience highly desirable.
* Knowledge of distribution and transmission networks, renewable energy integration and emerging power system technologies.
* Well developed communication, stakeholder management and problem solving skills.
* The ability to navigate ambiguity, balance multiple priorities and deliver high quality studies on time and within scope.
