About the Role
We are seeking a qualified baker with a minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience to join our team at Bakers Delight, Port Adelaide Plaza. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their craft, values consistency, and enjoys working with both traditional and modern baking methods.
You'll be producing a range of high-quality breads, rolls, and pastries, with a particular focus on sourdough. Experience with retarders and bulk fermentation is essential, as you'll be responsible for bringing out the best flavour, texture, and quality in our doughs.
This is a hands-on role in a supportive, fast-paced environment where teamwork, efficiency, and attention to detail are highly valued.
Key Responsibilities
* Mix, shape, and bake a variety of breads, rolls, pastries, and specialty products.
* Prepare and maintain doughs using retarders and managing bulk sourdough fermentation.
* Follow production schedules and meet daily bakery demands.
* Maintain food safety, hygiene, and workplace cleanliness standards.
* Operate and care for bakery equipment safely.
* Work both independently and as part of a team to deliver consistent results.
What We're Looking For
* Trade qualified baker (Certificate III or equivalent).
* Australian work rights are required for this position.
* A couple of years' baking experience in a commercial environment.
* Strong knowledge of dough development, fermentation, and baking processes.
* Reliability, punctuality, and pride in producing high-quality products.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment.
* Passion for artisan bread and continuous improvement.
* Availability to work early morning shifts is essential.
