Overview
Ventia is seeking a Marine Carpenter to join the Department of Transport contract in Fremantle, Western Australia. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this role will perform a range of preventive maintenance and repair tasks on Department of Transport infrastructure such as jetties, wharfs, boat ramps and maritime buildings along the coast. The role involves applying trade skills to install, replace and repair facility integrity, and working outdoors in the fresh air and sea breeze. There may be travel to remote and rural coastal areas of WA to perform work as required.
This is a full-time, permanent position, Monday to Friday, 07:00am–03:30pm with 1x RDO per month. The pay rate is $48.20 per hour plus overtime opportunities.

Key Duties, But Not Limited To
* Responsible for completing maintenance and repair work on marine structures
* Carry out general maintenance, repairs and labouring as required
* Minor building asset repairs (locks, doors, etc.)
* Ensure inspection records are completed and maintained for required tasks
Requirements
* Physically fit with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn
* Carpentry Trade Certificate
* WA Drivers Licence – LR
* Forklift Ticket
* Construction Induction / White Card
* Chain Saw Ticket (desirable but not essential)
* Confident working on and around water (rivers, oceans, beaches, etc.)
* Experience in a similar role is highly regarded
