We are a multidisciplinary team providing Alcohol and Drug treatment and support to clients and offer support to other services in treatment options and referral pathways.
The MDT team consists of Allied Health, Nursing and Medical Officers and is part of the SMHS alcohol and drug statewide service.
Located in Ulverstone on the central coast of the NW.
The Role
Our services work closely with other services both within the public and private sectors to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community.
We provide a range of services including Harm minimisation strategies, Pharmacotherapy, Consultation Liaison services, Inpatient and residential pathways and medical consultation.
You will need
Comprehensive knowledge of contemporary evidence based practice used in the treatment and prevention of alcohol and other drug dependence, including alcohol and other drug assessment, the harm minimisation framework, interventions and prevention activities.
Knowledge of, and the ability to undertake, comprehensive assessments and therapeutic interventions with complex AOD issues.
Knowledge of and ability to develop, monitor and implement quality assurance and improvement activities and/or research.
Provides comprehensive clinical assessments, treatment and case management services to clients (and their families/carers)
Working within a multidisciplinary team to ensure best outcomes for clients, families and friends.
Provide Pharmacotherapy treatment and harm minimisation advice as part of the MDT process, including travel to outreach centres and in inpatient facilities.

Details of appointment
Permanent, full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary
$78,179 to $105,995 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
Access to the Grade 4 salary range $99,455- $105,995 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type
