The Youth Vibrancy Officer is responsible for developing and delivering activities and programs for young people across the City of Greater Geraldton. The role supports the ongoing activation of the City's Youth Centre, contributing to a vibrant and engaging place for young people to live, work and play.

The position also collaborates with stakeholders, assists with grant applications and reporting, and works alongside casual staff to help support youth programming and initiatives.

This position is offered as a full‐time, fixed‐term opportunity until April 2027 for parental leave cover.

Key accountabilities

* Assist in the preparation of funding applications for projects aligned to the City's Strategic Community Plan and provide support to the Coordinator Youth Development in writing, reporting and acquitting grant funding.
* Assist in the development and delivery of signature youth events while overseeing an effective youth action group who contribute to the development of selected key events.
* Develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships, collaborate across teams and partner organisations and meet funding body reporting requirements. Provide additional support to the Youth Development Team as required.
* Take responsibility for monitoring relevant budgets, ensuring procurement and payments are in accordance with Council policies.
* Provide oversight and direction to casual employees as required when leading and coordinating youth activities and/or events.

Position requirements

The Youth Vibrancy Officer is responsible for developing, delivering and reviewing a range of activities and programs for young people as well as activating key locations across the City of Greater Geraldton. The role supports the ongoing activation of the City's Youth Centre contributing to a vibrant and engaging place for young people to live, work and play.

In addition, the position provides operational and administrative support to youth programs and events, oversees and directs casual employees during event delivery, engages with key stakeholders, assists with grant applications and reporting and contributes to the planning and delivery of key youth events.

Completion of a pre‐employment medical including alcohol and other substances testing is required of all positions at the City.

Remuneration and benefits

The Youth Vibrancy Officer position has a salary starting from $89,127 per annum or $45.1046 per hour, offered dependent on knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications.
