MR Truck Driver - Metal Recycling | Permanent Full-Time + overtime rates
Our Southern Tasmania division is currently looking for a full-time MR Truck Driver to join our team based at our Launceston yard. This is a PERMANENT position for someone ready to be part of a team. You will be primarily responsible for providing timely collection services with a focus on safety, customer service, punctuality, and a great attitude.
Your responsibilities include:
- Ensuring efficient service to customers by collecting scrap metal bins, and/or delivering empty bins, in a timely fashion
- Communicating with management to identify any on-site concerns regarding OHS, environmental or collection issues arising
- Working in accordance with a daily plan for collections while being flexible
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with site safety, environmental and quality procedures
- Operational support in the yard as required
- Maintaining professional relationships with our established customer base
Qualifications & experience
- MR/HR license with minimum 2 years of commercial truck driving experience and clean driving record
- Hiab/crane operation experience preferred (training provided for the right candidate)
- Excellent customer service ethic- you will interact with clients daily
- Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated with a strong work ethic
- Ability to work independently & as part of a team
- Right to work in Australia
- Physical fitness for manual handling requirements and ability to pass pre-employment medical
- It will be of added advantage (but not required) if you have:
- Previous experience in waste management, recycling, or similar industry
- Current forklift licence (LF) and tickets to operate various load shifting equipment such as excavators
- Long-term employment history demonstrating reliability
