As a key player in the NSW Government's Cyber Security initiative, this role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of whole-of-government integrated cyber risk management and response strategies.
Cyber Security NSW is responsible for ensuring a cyber-safe NSW. Our systems and digital information are critical to the many essential services we provide, including health, emergency services, and transport. The protection of our systems requires enhanced cybersecurity capabilities, and at the centre of this effort is Cyber Security NSW, working across government to:
* Create an integrated approach to managing cyber risk and responding to cyber security threats.
* Increase cyber skills and awareness.
* Understand the risks from cyber threats to our digital information and systems.
* Set cyber security standards.
* Evaluate our preparedness for potential cyber incidents.
This role will work closely with stakeholders across the NSW Government to develop and implement effective cyber incident response plans, aligning them with state and national protocols. Key responsibilities include:
1. Supporting the NSW Chief Cyber Security Officer and other senior leaders in managing and leading the NSW Government during significant cyber incidents or crises.
2. Liaising with various stakeholders, including technical and non-technical personnel, to ensure collaboration, coordination, and synergy among agencies.
3. Balancing competing priorities and deliverables while maintaining quality outputs and promptly addressing emerging challenges.
The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, experience in state and federal cyber security policies and frameworks, and the ability to liaise effectively with diverse stakeholders. A tertiary qualification in an appropriate discipline or equivalent industry experience is also required. Additionally, the candidate must be an Australian Citizen, able to obtain and maintain a NV1 National Security Clearance, and undergo a police check.
