**Account Manager**
**Reporting to: Sales Manager (QLD)**

**Location: Adelaide**
**How will you make an impact?**
You will need to have professional credibility and an understanding of your clients' needs to achieve and exceed sales territory financial targets. You will inherit an excellent portfolio of existing accounts in North QLD with significant opportunities for growth. As a representative of Thermo Fisher Scientific you will have the advantage of the largest range of scientific consumables and equipment in Australia and hence are in an enviable position to be able to satisfy your client's needs.
Thermo Fisher has a large team of product and technical specialists who will support and work closely with you to be successful in making Thermo Fisher Scientific the "supplier of choice" to all your customers.
**What will you do?**
- Achieve and exceed sales territory financial targets and objectives
- Grow the business in line with company targets including the sales opportunity funnel, focusing on growing existing accounts (SOW) and developing new business (SOM).
- Manage customer relationships and be a 'supplier of choice'.
- Publicise Thermo Fisher Scientific and proactively approach the customer base via planned and targeted calls.
- Utilise internal resources effectively and work closely with Product Managers, Product Specialists, and Category Leaders.
- Ensure the customer contact program is implemented and managed so as to maximise sales growth & key customer relationships
- Develop and implement key account plans and strategies in line with marketing and sales management objectives
- Report and communicate internally in order to ensure opportunities are being maximised and customer (external & internal) expectations are being met
**How will you get here?**
- Science degree (preferred)
- Previous Sales experience with accountability for achievement of KPI's and Financial Targets and or similar technical support role
- Comprehensive knowledge and confidence in the sales process.
- High standard of computer literacy.
- A proven background in the area of sales including a strong awareness of the sales and negotiation processes and an ability to sell creatively/competitively.
- An ability to develop and execute sales and account plans in line with marketing and key customer objectives
- An ability to think strategically and laterally in order to maximise business opportunities, profitability and customer potential
- An ability to understand technical products and related markets/customers
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to easily build strong customer relationships and rapport at all levels of authority.
- Strong organisational skills with an ability to prioritise, manage time effectively and meet agreed deadlines
- A positive and enthusiastic attitude with a passion for sales and achieving results
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, CRM, business analytics)
- A high level of responsiveness and a passion to "go the extra mile" to help your customers
- A team player who cultivates strong internal relationships
