This is an exciting opportunity for passionate Support Workers with relevant experience to join a dynamic environment and support staff. As a Support Worker, you will provide assertive outreach support to NDIS Participants with a range of disabilities such as anxiety, depression, or post-traumatic stress disorder. This includes intensive, flexible, responsive, client-focused support with the aim of assisting clients to successfully improve physical and mental health develop connections with the community, and achieve their goals. Support Workers will participate in a 24/7 roster. Workers will assist participants in their needs of daily living including personal care, domestic assistance, social support, transport, etc.
**Skills and experience**:
- Must be able to build rapport quickly and demonstrate empathy and understanding of issues relating to people with disabilities; and who may be at-risk and have high support needs.
- Extensive experience and/or qualifications relevant to working with people with disabilities and knowledge of working in residential settings.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
- A positive approach to the rights of people with disabilities and an understanding of how the NDIS works.
**you must have at minimum**:
- Must hold a relevant Cert IV, Diploma, or Tertiary qualification (or its equivalent) / including demonstrated knowledge or experience in working with NDIS participants with complex needs.
- Must hold a WWVP card or willingness to obtain.
- Driving License (minimum P2)
- Must have a current First Aid certificate and medication administration certificate / or willingness to acquire it.
- Must have a manual handling certificate.
- Must have qualifications related to epilepsy or sufficient experience to handle epilepsy.
- Must be willing to attend periodical training and uphold registrations and qualifications.
- Must have completed NDIS Worker Orientation.
- Must agree and sign a confidentiality form to protect organisational and participants' information at all times.
