Our client, a statutory agency whose focus is defending Australia against global threats requires the services of a Web Developerto build web components and APIs for data access and business logic for a public web facing system.
Key Duties and Responsibilities of the Web Developer
* Design, build, integrate, deliver and document software capability that meets business requirements;
* Escalate issues and seek advice from team leader or project manager in a timely manner;
* Engage with business and product owners to clarify and fully develop user requirements using agile development methods;
* Document technical processes in accordance with organisational policies and procedures and promote bi-directional knowledge transfer within a team environment;
* Enhance and support automation capability for existing systems and recommend/design new structures and tools which meet business requirements which take into account the target environment. Integrate Commercial Off-The-Shelf and Government Off-The-Shelf software. Translate logical designs into physical designs and integrate software employing an Agile Software Development Methodology (ASDM).
Skills and Experience
* Strong proficiency in REACT/TypeScript/Javascript/ES6, including the use of modern build tools and bundlers (eg. Webpack) and unit testing frameworks (eg. Jest);
* Demonstrated Single-Page Application (SPA) experience including state-management (e.g. Redux, MobX), routing, responsive design etc;
* Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, AWS CDK) as well as an understanding of CI/CD pipelines and containerization (Docker) would be highly regarded;
* Strong experience with relational (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and non-relational (eg. DynamoDB) databases;
* Experience with linters and formatters like ESLint and Prettier to enforce consistent coding standards;
* Familiarity with OWASP guidelines, secure coding and data protection strategies.
