The Shire of Collie is seeking a highly motivated, suitably qualified, enthusiastic planning professional to join the Development Services Directorate in a role integral to ensuring the Shire leads on shaping Collie's bright future. The successful candidate will work on a broad range of statutory and strategic projects and assist the Shire in its role in Collie's Transition Plan. The Shire is seeking to fill one position, full time on a continuing basis, to work with the Manager Planning and Development and can offer negotiable, flexible terms and arrangements to suit the successful candidate. To succeed in this role, you will ideally possess:
- Tertiary qualifications in Town Planning, Urban Planning or a related field;
- Demonstrated experience in project management, statutory urban planning including processing simple to moderately complex applications for development and subdivision;
- Knowledge, understanding and application of the legislative responsibility and processes relating to town/urban planning and preferably, Local Government; and
- Ability to effectively plan, organise and manage own time and workload, to successfully achieve specific outcomes within set timeframes against conflicting priorities.
The successful candidate would be responsible for the assessment of planning applications, including significant State applications, compliance, administering the Shire's Local Laws, assisting with major projects, strategies, local planning schemes and local planning policies.
