Little Stiller Distillery /Restaurant isn’t just about great cocktails – we’re about creating total awesome customer satisfaction, and that starts in the kitchen. We’re looking for an experienced Chef to join our crew in magnificent Mandurah.

Responsibilities

- Develop New Recipes.
- Plan Menus with Tavern Stiller managers and directors.
- Estimate food and labour costs to construct the menu
- Order food supplies and continue to be budget conscious with suppliers
- Source good fresh food at the best prices
- Monitor quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
- Discuss food preparation issues with Managers, kitchen and waiting staff
- Manage Customer Relations, if required, with any major complaints of the food
- Plan and organise the preparation and cooking of food
- Demonstrate techniques and advise on cooking procedures
- Prepare and cook food
- Select and train kitchen staff in all areas of the kitchen and front of house in liaison with the manager
- Set up the kitchen with cooking utensils and equipment, like knives, pans and kitchen scales
- Study each recipe and gather all necessary ingredients
- Cook food in a timely manner
- Delegate tasks to kitchen staff
- Inform wait staff about daily specials
- Supervise Cooks and assist as needed
- Slightly modify recipes to meet customers’ needs and requests (e.g. reduce salt, remove dairy)
- Monitor food stock and place orders
- Check freshness of food and discard out-of-date items
- Experiment with recipes and suggest new ingredients
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area

Requirements

- Solid organisational skills and high standards in customer service.
- Flexible work ethic with a passion for creating unique and memorable food experiences.
- A genuine raving fan of great food who connects with people and “makes it happen.”
- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (or at least 3 years’ relevant experience if no formal qualification).
- 1 Year with qualifications 3 years without qualifications
