Senior Mechanical Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team at the Murrin Murrin site in Western Australia's northern Goldfields.
Our integrated nickel and cobalt mining and processing operation employs over 1,000 people.
Job Description:
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will support the Engineering department by developing practical solutions to plant improvements and specialised mechanical repairs to aid the safe production of nickel and cobalt.
Responsibilities:
* Collaborate effectively with asset owners to identify, prevent and troubleshoot plant and process problems to ensure maximum availability.
* Serve as the owner's mechanical engineering advisor to the project team.
* Assist in providing technical governance and support to various aspects of MMO Operations.
* Support maintenance engineering and reliability teams with technical and engineering support.
* Conduct Fitness for Service (FFS) assessments for pipes, tanks and pressure vessels.
* Ensure work output complies with engineering standards and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
Tertiary degree in Mechanical Engineering, recognised by Engineers Australia.
Minimum 10 years' experience, with at least 4 years in a complex processing plant.
A varied engineering background with a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
Experience working in maintenance engineering highly regarded.
Experience working in project engineering highly regarded.
Ability to work autonomously and be self-driven.
Familiarity with WA Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations.
Experience developing SOW for external consultants.
Appreciation of the business context for engineering and maintenance decisions.
Prior FIFO experience advantageous.
Australian manual driver's licence.
