Perth Airport is a critical gateway for Western Australia, supporting passenger, freight, and aviation operations 24/7. We are seeking an experienced Airfield & Airspace Planning Manager to join our Planning and Projects team and play a key role in shaping the airport's long-term vision and operational excellence.
About the role
In this pivotal position, you will provide technical leadership and strategic advice on the planning, safeguarding, and future development of Perth Airport's airfield and airspace. Working closely with internal stakeholders, regulatory authorities, airlines, and consultants, you will ensure the airport continues to operate safely, efficiently, and in line with future growth demands.
Key responsibilities include:
* Planning and testing aeronautical infrastructure to meet future airline, freight, general aviation and support requirements while protecting 24/7 operations.
* Managing airspace protection under the Airports (Protection of Airspace) Regulations and implementing the Aircraft Noise Management Framework.
* Providing expert input to the Airport Master Plan, Major Development Plans and airfield-related capital projects.
* Analysing movement growth data, capacity forecasts, and industry trends to inform future planning decisions.
* Leading risk management and compliance with airfield and airspace regulatory obligations.
* Building and maintaining effective relationships with regulators, airlines, consultants, and other stakeholders.
About you
We are looking for a professional with:
* Recognised qualifications in aviation, airport planning or engineering (tertiary qualification in mathematics, science, or related discipline also considered).
* Demonstrated experience in airport or airfield planning, with a sound understanding of regulatory frameworks.
* Strong analytical capability, data-driven decision-making, and reporting skills.
* Proven stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence at multiple levels.
* A collaborative and proactive leadership style, with the ability to guide consultants and contribute to cross-functional projects.
* An enquiring mind, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
