The Opportunity
The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is recruiting for a Communications and Publishing Officer in the Client Relations team within the Parliamentary Library. The Parliamentary Library provides high-quality information, analysis, and advice to Senators and Members of Parliament in support of their parliamentary and representational roles.
The Client Relations and Publishing team leads the delivery of outreach and publishes engaging online publications and communications for parliamentarians, committees, and their staff.
We are a trusted source of information, analysis, and advice for Parliamentarians and parliamentary staff. We are looking for someone who is creative, possesses sound judgment, and excels at creating and delivering engaging online and print communications.
As the Communication and Publishing Officer, you will be responsible for developing and distributing engaging digital and occasionally print communications. You will be supported by your Director to evaluate communication strategies and ensure optimal reach. You will also manage and develop the Library's social media presence.

Duty Statement
Under limited direction, undertake duties in accordance with the agreed standards for Parliamentary Services Level 5. The work may cover a range of tasks associated with the creation and distribution of client-focused communications in the Parliamentary Library.
1. Create and distribute engaging online communications via email, through social media, and other online channels including the Australian Parliament House website and parliamentary intranets.
2. Liaise with clients, internal staff, and external agencies to develop and deliver user-focused and accessible web-based information products, services, and instructional material.
3. Contribute to and implement the Library's communications strategy to achieve high levels of client engagement.
4. Assist in the maintenance, monitoring, and development of the Library's intranet and website by supporting publishers, developing engaging visuals, responding to web enquiries, and contributing to corporate activities.
