About the Role
Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH) is a major metropolitan tertiary referral hospital and a principal provider of specialist healthcare. It remains one of the nation's most respected hospitals.
You will need to be available and respond immediately to all contacts while rostered on‑call for the Sexual Assault Counselling Service SLHD, including attendance at RPAH within 1 hour of being called in.
You will provide an after‑hours counselling response to adults and young people aged 14 years and older who have been recently sexually assaulted within the context of a joint response with the Sexual Assault Medical Service.
Ideal Candidate
* Social Worker: Degree in Social Work and eligibility for membership of AASW
* Sexual Assault Worker: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Counselling or other qualification deemed equivalent
* Psychologist: Tertiary qualifications in Psychology and registration with AHPRA
* Current NSW Drivers Licence (P1 and P2 acceptable)
* Experience working in a crisis environment including skills in conducting psychosocial assessments, risk assessments and providing crisis counselling to clients in distress.
* Knowledge of the psychosocial and medico‑legal issues associated with sexual assault and other forms of violence, abuse, and neglect.
* Ability to attend RPA Hospital within 1 hour of being called in as you will be rostered onto the 24/7 crisis roster.
* Being female is recognised as a genuine occupation qualification and is authorised under section 31(2h) of the Anti‑Discrimination Act 1977.
