Job Title: Senior HVAC Test Engineer
Develop and apply test methods and procedures for the evaluation of new and updated embedded control solutions for commercial HVAC equipment, ensuring reliable normal operations and full coverage for fault state operations.
* Plan and establish system requirements for new product development and updates to existing products, utilizing knowledge of HVAC system operations.
* Detect, document, and track software and system defects, collaborating with development teams to resolve issues.
* Develop test methods, procedures, and applications to validate HVAC control system operations.
* Identify potential failure modes for HVAC control systems and validate proper handling in fault state conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Document operations, write test procedures, and assist in developing user manuals.
2. Provide front-line technical support internally and directly to customers, shielding direct contact with development engineers where possible.
3. Manage time with minimal oversight on multiple concurrent projects.
4. Maintain product and company reputation by complying with policies, including confidentiality and industry regulations.
Qualifications and Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, HVACR Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
* Four to six years of experience in a similar role or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Valid licensed driver for independent travel to job sites as required.
* Operational knowledge of commercial HVAC systems and basic understanding of electrical or electronic systems.
Work Environment:
* Primary work environment is in an office setting.
* May be exposed to work in precarious places, outdoor weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock while traveling to job sites.
* Lift up to 10lbs, sit for up to 85 percent of work hours, close vision, and ability to adjust focus are required.
