Specialist Technician Candidates - Technical Support to Schools Program Systems Engineer / Specialist Technician - TSSP / Education Sector Bytewize is seeking highly experienced IT professionals to fill contract and ongoing employment positions within our company.
Successful candidates will be employed by Bytewize to provide ongoing technical support services to the Department of Education through the Technical Support to Schools Program (TSSP).
Bytewize has been in business for over 25 years and is a long-standing panel member of the TSSP.
Note: These are not entry-level positions.
All candidates must have a minimum of 5 years' industry experience, including previous experience within the TSSP program, extensive experience in the education sector, or equivalent corporate industry experience.
Roles and Responsibilities Manage IT infrastructure within Department of Education schools. Administer school network and server infrastructure. Provide ICT support services to staff and students in large ICT-based learning environments. Essential Technical Skills Manage and service Windows and Apple devices on an enterprise scale. Administer and support Hyper-V virtualized server environments. Administer various Windows and Linux servers. Manage cloud services (Google and Microsoft). Mobile Device Management administration and deployment. High-level enterprise network administration skills (Cisco and HP switches). Administer Cisco wireless network technologies, including controllers and access points. Excellent communication skills. Support enterprise volume desktops and notebooks. Experience with SOE and image deployment, including troubleshooting. Industry experience in educational settings or similar enterprise environments. Knowledge of Department and TSSP initiatives is highly regarded. Experience with planning, deployment, and management of 1:1 and BYOD devices. Ability to plan and run ICT professional development sessions. Technical documentation writing skills. Personal Attributes Motivated, autonomous, and team-oriented professionals. Problem-solving skills with resourcefulness and escalation when needed. Punctual, reliable, and organized. Excellent interpersonal skills and passion for ICT. Ability to follow instructions and technical documentation accurately. Systematic troubleshooting and fault-finding skills. Australian citizenship or permanent residency. Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle. Clear police and background checks. Remuneration and Benefits Pay rate depends on skills and experience, with top rates in the range of $90,000-$110,000 annually (pro-rata for part-time). Performance reviews for pay adjustments.
