Reporting to the Superintendent Production, you will be responsible for promoting and ensuring the BCI and Mardie specific Health & Safety requirements to all site-based personnel including Contractors to the project are adhered to.

We are rapidly progressing the Mardie Salt Operation and Potash Project (Mardie Operation), a tier 1 solar evaporation project that will supply high-purity industrial salt and sulphate of potash (SOP) for more than 60 years.
Mardie will be the largest salt operation in Australia and the third largest globally. With first salt on ship on track to be achieved late next year, BCI Minerals is just at the beginning of its journey to become a key player in a multitude of globally significant sustainable opportunities.

The Role
The Advisor Health & Safety will initiate, promote and drive a positive HSEQ culture within the workplace, they will conduct site inductions and provide support to any new BCI employees and contractors up at Mardie and ensure all records are maintained. You will ensure all incident events are reported, recorded, escalated and then investigated as per the BCI standards and procedures.
The successful candidate will assist Operations with the implementation of the HSEQ management plan and programs, be involved in field leadership, mentorship, and engagement with the workforce. The Advisor Health & Safety will be able to build strong working relationships with all personnel on site and participate in incident investigations. You will conduct auditing, field inspections and risk assessments in a timely manner.
About You:
The successful candidate will have:
- Certificate IV in Workplace Health & Safety or relevant university graduate diploma in safety
- Previous experience as a health and safety representative.
- Strong operational experience and interpersonal skills with the desire to build meaningful relationships at work.
- The desire and motivation to work in a remote workplace on a FIFO (8/6) roster.
You must have current unrestricted working rights for Australia to be eligible for consideration.
