Coordinator Finance

Are you ready to help shape the financial future of Towong Shire Council?

In this role, you'll work closely with the Senior Accountant and the Manager of Finance, delivering monthly reports, financial statement reports, and performance reports. You'll manage all aspects of asset accounting and oversee a small team, including our Senior Accountant and Payroll Officer.

As the Coordinator of Finance, you'll lead the development, implementation, and thorough monitoring of our financial planning, budgeting, and reporting processes. Your expertise in financial reporting, asset accounting, and payroll will enable informed decision-making, ensuring that every step aligns seamlessly with our organisational goals and meets all legislative requirements.

You'll also be responsible for maintaining the integrity of our financial systems, engaging with internal stakeholders, and promoting best practices. Your leadership will drive continuous improvement in financial management, keeping us aligned with industry standards and innovations.

To be successful in this role, you will:

* be a qualified accountant (4+ years).
* hold a CPA or be working towards one.
* have knowledge of payroll legislation and be able to supervise the payroll function. Experience with payroll, or a willingness to learn, is highly desirable.
* have personality in spades, ensuring stakeholders are well informed and engaged.
* be able to work independently and as part of a team.
* have strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
* possess strong leadership skills with the ability to coach and develop a small team.
