Specialist Orthodontic Receptionist
Permanent Part-Time – Tuesday & Wednesday

Smart Orthodontics is a long-established specialist orthodontic practice in South Australia, providing high-quality orthodontic care across city, suburban and rural locations. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional treatment in a caring, professional and team-focused environment.
We are currently seeking a part-time Receptionist with a clinical/dental assisting background to join our team. This is a dual-role position, primarily based at reception, with the ability to support the clinical team when required.
This is an excellent opportunity for a dental assistant looking to expand into administration while maintaining clinical skills within a specialist setting.
About the Role
You will play a vital role in ensuring our patients have a positive experience from the moment they walk through the door, while also providing clinical support when needed.
Reception & Administration
* Greet patients warmly and professionally
* Manage appointment scheduling and patient flow
* Answer phone calls and respond to patient enquiries
* Complete patient correspondence and referrals for the Specialist Orthodontist
* Manage incoming/outgoing letters and referrals
* Process payments and maintain accurate patient records
* General administrative duties including recalls, filing and data entry
Clinical Support (as required)
* Provide chairside support when staffing requires
* Assist with sterilisation and clinical flow
* Support the clinical team to ensure efficient daily operations
About You
We are looking for a reliable, adaptable and team-oriented individual who enjoys being part of a supportive and professional environment.
Essential:
* Previous experience as a Dental Assistant (minimum 1 year preferred)
* OR strong healthcare reception experience with dental knowledge
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Strong organisational and multitasking ability
* High attention to detail and professionalism
* Confident using practice management software and Microsoft Office
* Friendly, positive and proactive attitude
* Ability to work both independently and within a team
