We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Paste Fill Engineer to join our Technical Services team at ourKalgoorlie Operations. Thisresidential or FIFOrole in Kalgoorlie-Boulder operates on a4:3 roster, 12-hour shifts, offering the perfect balance between career progression and lifestyle. What you’ll be doing:
* Lead the planning, scheduling, and execution of all mine pastefill activities to support production targets.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimise pastefill performance and overall mine outcomes.
* Develop, maintain, and govern the Paste Fill Management Plan, procedures, and stope fill standards.
* Design stope pastefill mixes, paste walls, fill and breather holes, reticulation routes, and flow models.
* Provide clear work instructions for pastefill and ancillary activities, ensuring safe and efficient execution.
* Manage pastefill QA/QC, strength testing, monitoring, and routine inspections of operations and infrastructure.
* Provide budgeting inputs, cement usage forecasts, and manage pastefill-related contracts.
* Monitor performance, report on compliance with production schedules, and support delivery of key KPIs.
* Drive continuous improvement, audits, and best practice across pastefill systems.
* Maintain accurate records and promote pastefill awareness across the operation.
* Mentor junior engineers and operational teams, supporting capability development and knowledge transfer.
What we’re looking for:
Experience: Experience with mine design software – Deswik, with the ability to interpret and apply mining plans effectively. Hands‑on underground production experience in a mechanised hard‑rock underground mine (planning experience desirable but not essential). Strong leadership, problem‑solving, and communication skills, with a proactive and innovative mindset. Flexibility and adaptability to evolving industry standards, regulations, and best practices, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
Qualifications: Tertiary Qualifications in Mining Engineering. Current “C” Class Western Australian Driver’s Licence (Manual). Desirable: St Johns Senior First Aid certification and familiarity with the Work Health & Safety Act and Regulations.
