Java Senior Software Engineer - Convert - (Hybrid). We are seeking an experienced Java Senior Software Engineer to join our Convert area in Barcelona or Madrid (Hybrid). What you will do Take on a Senior Engineer role driving technical work for other engineers. Stay up‑to‑date on industry trends and know how to apply them. Provide technical guidance for complex initiatives and deliver strategic technical improvements. Improve code structure and architecture with focus on testability and maintainability; identify opportunities for technical investments to meet objectives. Deliver projects with high complexity, involving multiple stakeholders, while monitoring and mitigating timeline risks. Give and receive feedback through code reviews and architecture reviews; mentor team members to help them grow to the next level. Communicate complex ideas to technical and business stakeholders and align within the broader organization. Continuously expand your skills through learning and knowledge sharing. Here’s what you need to succeed: Deep understanding of software engineering concepts (OOP, functional programming, concurrency, data structures, architecture patterns, APIs). Experience with Java and a microservices environment; experience with Datadog, databases, and Kafka is a plus. Experience with the full software development lifecycle, including production deployment and testing (unit and integration), as well as Cloud and Continuous Delivery environments. Strong data-driven capabilities, analytical and design pattern skills, and creativity to solve complex problems. Aim to provide resilient, high-performing, well-dimensioned solutions to complex problems. Focus on quality and a technical excellence mindset. Excellent communication skills and openness to reach agreements with the team and stakeholders. Ability to visually represent solutions in standard diagrams for technical and non-technical audiences. Strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize and delegate to meet deadlines in an uncertain environment. Fluent English to work in a multicultural environment and communicate at all levels. Continuous learning mindset, growth and innovation. Team player attitude with knowledge sharing within a dynamic team. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Applied AI Tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT) and AI-powered coding assistants. Experimentation mindset and curiosity to explore and integrate AI-driven solutions into development workflows. Ability to leverage AI tools to debug code, streamline processes, and boost productivity. Adaptability and learning agility to quickly adapt to new AI features and capabilities.
