Job Type: Permanent position | Full time position
Job Description: Mobile plant operator including Tractor Operator and other farm harvesting equipment. Location: Biofarms Tasmania Agricultural Sites (NW Coast Tasmania Region). Employment Type: Fulltime/Permanent (under the Horticulture Award 2020). Annual starting wage $70,000 & overtime. Working Patterns: Monday to Friday (subject to operational needs). Some weekends and afterhours work may be required.
Responsibilities
* Operate tractors and farm machinery to perform tasks such as ground preparation, planting, inter-rowing, harvesting, spraying, and facilitating irrigation activities. Specialized equipment may include a Culti'track tool carrier.
* Perform daily pre-start inspections and basic maintenance (e.g., oil checks, tyre pressure) on machinery as per Safe Work Procedures.
* Identify and report any mechanical issues, safety concerns, or hazards.
* Perform routine servicing, minor repairs and maintenance checks on machinery and equipment.
* Follow site plans and supervisor instructions to meet required timelines.
* Transport machinery and equipment between farm locations, adhering to all road safety regulations.
* Assist with other general farm duties as required.
* Adhere to organic farming standards and guidelines.
* Other farm tasks as directed.
What we're looking for
* Proven experience operating tractors and other farm machinery.
* Valid driver's license and ability to drive on public roads.
* Knowledge of road safety and regulations applicable to farm equipment.
* Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
