About The Role
This role contributes to an outcomes‐focused and value‐adding culture by supporting leaders and staff to take personal accountability for delivering on Council's Corporate Plan and policies. It supports business continuity by following reasonable directions to maintain critical operations in the event of unplanned disruptions, including disasters or major events.
The position delivers high‐quality, innovative, and integrated marketing, communication, and engagement services across appropriate channels to inform, engage, and influence the community. It assists in the development of organisational communication strategies and plans, ensures Council communication channels remain current, relevant, and engaging, and supports the delivery of digital consultation opportunities through Council's online engagement platform. The role also manages external service providers in line with procurement requirements, ensuring services are delivered to specification and achieve value‐for‐money outcomes.
Responsibilities
The incumbent will:
* Support leaders and staff to take personal accountability for delivering on Council's Corporate Plan and policies.
* Support business continuity and maintain critical operations during unplanned disruptions.
* Deliver marketing, communication, and engagement services across appropriate channels.
* Assist in the development and implementation of organisational communication strategies and plans.
* Maintain current and engaging Council communication channels.

* Ensure services are delivered to specification and achieve value‐for‐money outcomes.
About You
* Formal qualifications to a degree level in Marketing, Communications, or equivalent working experience.
* Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role delivering successful communication and/or engagement plans and activities including digital and social media.
* IAP2 Certificate of Engagement or ability to obtain.
* Well‐developed written communication skills for a variety of audiences using a range of communication channels with the purpose of informing and influencing.
* Interpersonal skills including consultation, collaboration, self‐management, negotiation, problem solving and teamwork.
* Project management skills including ability to manage time and budget requirements.
* Relationship building skills with the ability to influence with integrity.
* Well‐developed prioritisation and time management skills including the ability to identify, plan and organise work objectives with a focus on achieving team outcomes.
* Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of products.
