We are looking for two Retail Manager to run our Homeware, Gift, Novelty, Souvenir (Discount Variety) store in Kallangur and Bargara, QLD. These roles require excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and good written and verbal communication skills. The salary on offer for this position is $60,000-$70,000 depending on experience.
**Store Manager Responsibilities**:
Product pricing and purchasing
Liaising with product suppliers
Creating rosters
Ordering stock and completing stock-takes
Recruitment
Cash control
Staff management and training
End of day paperwork, operational report writing
Updating products according to performance
Promotion and marketing of products instore including gaining customer feedback
Maintaining financial records and following company budgets
**Role Description**
As the store manager your duties range from determining which products should be sold and monitoring the performance of products. Stocking appropriate products according to customer spending trends and special occasions as well as meeting with vendors and supplier representatives to select marketable goods and seasonal products.
Applicants should have experience and competence preparing reports on product performance for management and skills training staff members on products and promotion. It is expected that the manager will prepare in-store flyers, undertake merchandising and arrange for the promotion and selection of monthly specials to encourage spending. Monthly inventories are required along with monthly operational statements.
Applicants must have a good grasp of policies and procedures and be able to implement and improve on these for the benefit of the business and staff with particular focus on health and safety. Staff must be continually trained on these procedures as a regular activity.
**Education & Experience**:
Minimum one year supervisory experience in a customer service and/or retail environment required
Previous cash handling experience desired
Diploma level qualifications preferred
**Knowledge, Skills & Abilities**:
Good customer service skills; attention to details; strictly follow Company's Service
Standards
Good verbal and written communication skills - ability to communicate with staff and prepare written reports
Efficient time management and organizational skills; ability to direct the work activities of several staff simultaneously and plan ahead
