Groundsperson
Our Lady of Lourdes is a single stream school catering for 240 students in Pre-Kindy to Year 6. Located in the beautiful South West, just 2 hours from Perth and 15 minutes from Bunbury.
The school is seeking a part‐time groundsperson. The role involves 25 hours a week. Flexible hours can be negotiated with Leadership.
We are looking at the start date to be Tuesday 03 March or earlier by mutual agreement. Induction (paid) will be completed prior, week of the 23 February.
Duties
* Routine garden maintenance: Mowing, trim hedges, weed garden beds, water plants and maintain outdoor play areas (Reticulation maintenance essential).
* Ensure grounds are kept to a high standard, picking up rubbish, cobweb removal, reinstating pavement, cleaning gutters and general repairs.
* Maintenance; repair locks, patch plaster, paint, basic plumbing repairs.
* In consultation with the Principal, prepare regular status reports on facility operations and project progress for senior management.
* Work Health and Safety Compliance: Monitor and report hazards, conduct basic risk assessments, and ensure the safe use/storage of tools and chemicals.
* Security and safety checks: perform routine inspection of grounds and buildings to ensure safety.
* Maintain tools and equipment in good working order and report faults when necessary.
* Assist with deliveries and waste management.
* Assist in scheduling and supervising contractors or tradespeople on site as required.
* Move and assembly of office furniture.
* Assisting with event set up.
* Must be physically fit and mobile to be able to successfully complete manual tasks and have good observation skills.
* Hold a current WA Drivers' Licence.
Selection Criteria
* Strong organisation and time management skills.
* Knowledge and experience with maintenance work such as plumbing and basic irrigation repair.
* Knowledge and/or experience with gardening requirements.
* Teamwork and great communication.
* Excellent organisational skills.
* Reliable, flexible, and punctual approach to your work.
* Current Driver's licence full C class essential.
* National Police Clearance and Working With Children Check.
* Ability to perform physical requirements of the role.
* Value safety as a priority in the workplace.
