We have an exciting opportunity for a Funds Associate with 3-4 years' PQE. This role sits within our broader Transactional Practice Group in Sydney.

Our practice
Baker McKenzie's Transactional Practice Group is at the forefront of providing commercially astute advice to major Australian and global companies, fund managers, pension funds and sovereign wealth funds.

The work undertaken by the Funds Transaction Group is primarily transactional in nature, and includes assisting funds on raising capital and undertaking investments and M&A transactions. However, there is also a regulatory focus, which includes advising sponsors and managers on all regulatory aspects of fund formation, capital raisings and operating an investment management business. You will be working with
Leo Vellis
, a partner in the Funds Transaction Group in Sydney, as well as other partners in the broader team.

About You
You will have:

* 2-7 years' experience in Funds-related work;
* relevant experience in a top-tier or leading international firm (preferred);
* a strong client service focus;
* a commitment to high standards including strong drafting, analytical and commercial skills, and excellent written and oral communication skills;
* a willingness to learn;
* an ability to demonstrate initiative and proactivity;
* an ability to work well in a team environment (including across our Australian offices and internationally);
* a willingness to develop others through mentoring and sharing experiences;
* business development aptitude, interest, and experience; and
* relevant legal qualifications with a strong academic background.
