You will work within a high-security environment, applying DevOps best practices to enable automation, improve delivery pipelines, and enhance system resilience. Key Responsibilities Design, build, deploy, and manage secure cloud and hybrid infrastructure (AWS/Azure) Implement and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and automation frameworks Build, optimise, and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI or similar) Develop and maintain scripts using Python, Bash, or PowerShell Deploy and manage containerised applications using Docker and Kubernetes Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions (e.g. Prometheus, ELK) Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to troubleshoot issues and streamline delivery Support incident response, operational monitoring, and continuous improvement Ensure solutions align with security, compliance, and ASD standards Required Skills & Experience Proven experience delivering ICT solutions across cloud and hybrid environments Strong understanding of: Networking, segmentation, and security architecture Identity and access management (IAM) Encryption and secure system design Cloud models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) Hands-on expertise with: Terraform / CloudFormation / Ansible CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI) Docker & Kubernetes Git version control Strong scripting capability in Python, Bash, or PowerShell Experience in automation, system optimisation, and incident response Requirements Essential criteria 1. Proven delivery of ICT solutions in cloud and hybrid environments, including end-to-end design, deployment, migration, and operational support across public and private platforms, aligned to business and service outcomes. 2. Strong, integrated understanding of networking, systems engineering, security, and cloud service models, with the ability to apply this knowledge in cohesive solution design spanning routing, segmentation, identity and access management, encryption, virtualisation, and IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS architectures. 3. Proficiency in scripting and software-driven infrastructure, with the ability to develop, maintain, and optimise scripts and lightweight applications using languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell to automate workflows and support operational efficiency. 4. Demonstrated hands-on capability in infrastructure automation using Infrastructure as Code and configuration management tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation to build reproducible environments, enforce configuration consistency, and support CI/CD practices. 5. Practical experience with containerisation and orchestration in production environments, including the use of technologies such as Docker and platforms such as Kubernetes to manage container lifecycles, implement deployment strategies, and support scalable, observable services. Desirable criteria 1. Demonstrated capability in Kubernetes (K8s) including cluster provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management, with hands-on experience deploying and operating containerised workloads in production environments and supporting performance, scaling, and reliability. 2. Practical experience with graph database technologies (e.g. Neo4j), including data modelling, development of efficient queries using Cypher, and ongoing administration, optimisation, and operational support in enterprise environments. 3. Experience operating within secure, regulated environments, with a working understanding of and adherence to frameworks such as the Information Security Manual (ISM) and Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF), applied in system design, implementation, and ongoing compliance activities.
