We are seeking an experienced Technical Risk Engineer to join our team on the Minor Vessel Capability Life Cycle Manager (MV CLCM) program. As a Technical Risk Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering strong outcomes for our nation and defence.
Key Responsibilities:
Your new role will provide you with the opportunity to learn, share knowledge, and be mentored on Engineering methodology and processes. Enabled by the support of the Engineering Manager, you will also be enrolled in our national Systems Engineering network.
Working in a friendly team to meet the needs of our customer - the Royal Australian Navy (RAN), your role involves direct engagement with peers, Australian Defence Force personnel, capability partners, sub-contractors, and suppliers. You will be responsible for:
* Managing and maintaining the Authorised Seaworthiness Materiel Delivery Organisation (AMSDO) Technical Risk registers.
* Establishing and maintaining a system which effectively presents technical risks and issues to internal and external stakeholders.
* Providing ongoing training and guidance to personnel in Technical Risk Assessments.
* Conducting investigations, within delegation, into risk assessments.
* Facilitating and chairing Monthly Technical risk meetings with key stakeholders.
* Undertaking technical risk assessments aligned with Defence processes and with defence systems such as TRMS.
* Contributing to the development of plans, methodology, processes, and tools of Technical Risk Management.
* This role will work closely with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders across the country, to develop and maintain effective relationships to deliver quality outcomes.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* 6 years of experience in a Risk Engineering role.
* Tertiary Qualification in relevant engineering discipline (e.g. electrical, electronic, structural or mechanical backgrounds).
* Experience in effectively representing engineering professional services to both internal and external customers.
* Previous exposure to Defence projects desirable.
* Exposure to Defence Logistics Toolset desirable.
* Ability to work in a team environment.
* Excellent verbal and written skills.
* Eligible to obtain and maintain a NV1 Defence Security Clearance.
