Early Childhood Teacher Position
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Teacher to lead the development of our 4 year old room. The successful applicant will be responsible for implementing high quality programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children.
About Our Centre
We offer a homely and welcoming environment that caters for 152 children between the ages of six months and six years. Our team is built on the foundations of connection, communication and consideration, with an inspiring and knowledgeable Centre Manager who focuses on offering continuous support and opportunities to each member of the team.
Main Responsibilities
* To bring the Journey Values of connection, communication and consideration to life in everyday practice.
* Acknowledge and adhere to Journey's child safe policy and code of conduct.
* Plan and structure learning in both indoor and outdoor environments, using a variety of materials and equipment to facilitate children's development.
* Provide a variety of experiences and activities to develop motor skills, cooperative social skills, confidence and understanding.
* Promote language development through storytelling, role play, songs, rhymes and informal discussions held individually and within groups of children.
* Observe children to evaluate progress and detect signs of ill health, emotional disturbance and other disabilities.
* Ensure nutritional health, welfare and safety needs of children and identify factors which may impede their progress.
* Have open conversations and discussions with parents to support children's development.
* Attend parent interviews, centre meetings and events.
* Participate in community and family support programs as appropriate.
Your Key Skills and Requirements
* An ACECQA recognised bachelor's degree (Birth Five).
* A current Valid Working with Children Check.
* A demonstrated commitment to providing a safe, caring, non-judgmental and supportive environment for all children and their families.
* A demonstrated ability to adhere to and understand the ECA code of Ethics and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
