About the Company
We are hiring for a Lead Technology Architect - (EL2 Level) for Canberra.
The section sets architecture strategies, roadmaps, design direction, decision support and governance for core technology platforms, IT infrastructure and cyber security; ensuring technology is secure, aligned with business outcomes, and built for agility and long-term value.
About the Role
Technology Architects determine the appropriate technologies to be used in the service development and delivery environment. They monitor emerging technologies and plan technology exploration, implementation and retirement.
Responsibilities
Defining, developing, and leading the vision, strategy, target state, roadmap, and decision support for one or more infrastructure capabilities (Facilities, Storage, Compute, Network, enabling Platforms).
Providing high quality advice to senior stakeholders and contributing to the decision support and wider strategic planning of the Department ensuring alignment with best practices, cost optimisation and business goals.
Engaging with Subject Matter Experts to support organizational outcomes.
Designing, developing, and / or leading appropriate architectural artefacts.
Extending Technology Architecture frameworks and governance processes.
Providing design assurance, fit for purpose integration, and ensuring adherence with architectural strategy, principles, and practices.
Transferring skills and knowledge to departmental staff and ensuring appropriate documentation is stored in accordance with the Department's recordkeeping policy and practices.
Producing the following deliverables, including but not limited to :
* Design reviews.
* Project architecture artefacts (such as solution outlines and system and security architecture documentation).
* Architecture End States.
* Solution Outlines.
* Architectural Decisions.
* Reference Architectures.
Qualifications
Extensive architecture experience across one or more of technology domains : data centres, infrastructure platforms (Power, X86, Mainframe, Virtualisation), networking systems, surveillance and communication systems, storage systems (performance, data protection), collaboration platforms (MS Teams), contact centre solutions (Genesys or Amazon Connect), End user computing design (MoEs, Windows 11, Microsoft 365) to create ICT architecture designs, patterns, blueprints, roadmaps and solution designs.
Required Skills
Technical skills: Extensive architecture experience across one or more of technology domains.
