Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD) is a recognised leader in the healthcare industry, providing a range of public health services across the Nepean and Blue Mountains and Lithgow Region.

CYF‐MH provides assessment, psychoeducation, clinical support and specialist intervention for children, young people and their families, delivering person‐centred, trauma‐informed and recovery‐oriented care.

The successful incumbent will facilitate effective referral pathways for consumers experiencing mental health, drug health and psychosocial vulnerabilities during pregnancy and the perinatal period by providing clinical leadership, governance and strategic direction for the Safe Start Process, facilitating inter‐service and interagency collaboration, and acting as the interface between the NSW Health Ministry sponsor and NBMLHD regarding Safe Start implementation.

  • Post‐Registration qualifications, skilled registration/membership:
    • Social Worker – minimum bachelor's degree and eligibility for membership of Australian Association of Social Workers.
    • Occupational Therapist – minimum bachelor's degree and general registration with AHPRA.
    • Senior Psychologist – full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia and 9 years' experience.
    • Nursing – Registered Nurse/Midwife Division 1 with AHPRA, relevant post‐registration qualifications and at least 3 years' experience in the clinical area of the specified postgraduate qualification.
  • Extensive experience (no less than 3 years full‐time equivalent) working with adults, children and families presenting with mental health, drug health, family violence, child protection or other psychosocial difficulties.
  • High level expertise in child protection and mental health, capacity to provide expert consultation and lead interagency responses.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in operational and professional structures, with high‐level interpersonal, analytical, strategic and problem‐solving skills, and experience facilitating change and managing projects.
  • Strong oral, written and documentation skills, including consultation, negotiation, advocacy, and conflict resolution.
  • Commitment to clinical practice development and a sound understanding of quality improvement methods and techniques.
