Job Description Andrew Peace Wines is a dynamic, family owned company producing wine for our successful export and domestic labels and also as one of Australia\'s premier contract winemakers. Fruit is sourced from many regions within South Eastern Australia, including our own vineyards in Victoria and South Australia. Processing is done at our modern 60,000 tonne winery, situated at Piangil, in Victoria.

We are seeking a Vineyard Supervisor & irrigation Operator to supervise the day to day operations out our high performing 161 hectare vineyard in Happy Valley VIC. The successful candidate will ideally be an experienced Vineyard Operator looking to take the next step in their career and manage the activities of a small vineyard, irrigation operations and employees. This role requires a hands-on approach to tasks such as vine training, pruning, equipment operation, and irrigation system maintenance under the direction of the Grower Liason Officer and Vineyard Management Team.

Responsibilities

- Supervise the day to day operations of the 161 hectare vineyard in Happy Valley VIC.
- Manage the activities of a small vineyard, irrigation operations and employees.
- Perform hands-on tasks such as vine training, pruning, equipment operation, and irrigation system maintenance under the direction of the Grower Liaison Officer and Vineyard Management Team.

Qualifications

- Prior experience in vineyard operations and the use of agricultural machinery, with strong practical skills in vine care and irrigation maintenance.
- Ability to perform manual outdoor work in various weather conditions.
- Ability to lead and train a team effectively.
- Attention to detail, good judgment, and ability to follow instructions.
- A valid driver’s licence is required.
- Willingness to obtain ChemCert certification, as well as forklift and telehandler licences.
- Intermediate English proficiency and a strong commitment to workplace safety and compliance are necessary.
- Australian citizenship/residency or a valid existing Australian work visa.

With an annual crush of 30-50,000 tonnes, Andrew Peace Wines prepares around 19 million litres of wine to pre-bottling specifications each year. Wine is produced for our own label as well as processing wine for a small number of contract customers. Andrew Peace Wines is comparatively large by Australian standards embracing modern technology to enable efficiency.

Our combined cellar, winemaking, laboratory and vineyard staff can be up to 60 people at peak times, but during the off-season is around 40.
