We are currently seeking a passionate and energetic Recreational Activities Officer to join our team at Gumleigh Gardens Hostel on a permanent part‐time basis, including weekend availability.

As our Recreational Activities Officer, you will bring enthusiasm, creativity, and compassion to the delivery of engaging lifestyle programs that promote wellbeing, social connection, independence, and choice.

You'll coordinate and facilitate a variety of recreational, cultural, and wellness activities designed to support residents' physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing while fostering a vibrant and inclusive community environment.

What You'll Be Doing

* Planning and leading engaging lifestyle and recreational programs
* Encouraging resident participation, independence, and social connection
* Supporting residents' emotional and mental wellbeing
* Monitoring and evaluating activity programs to ensure they remain meaningful and effective
* Building positive relationships with residents, families, and team members
* Contributing to a warm, inclusive, and resident‐focused environment

About You

We are looking for someone who is caring, organised, and passionate about enhancing the lives of older people.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

* Certificate IV in Leisure and Lifestyle (minimum requirement)
* Previous experience in aged care or a similar setting
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Strong organisational and time management abilities
* Confidence working independently and solving problems proactively
* Understanding of Resident Rights and Aged Care Standards
* Good computer and digital literacy skills, including Microsoft Office
* Knowledge of Work Health & Safety practices
* Senior First Aid Certificate (desirable)

* Meet UPA's Immunisation and Vaccination requirements (including COVID‐19 and annual influenza vaccination)
* Complete a National Criminal History Check
