About the Company

Quinn Allan has been retained by a private family office to identify a Financial and Tax Accountant to join their organisation. With a diversity of investments, this office is responsible for the management of all family activities and would suit a driven individual who has hands on accounting experience and is comfortable working within a family office environment.

About the Job

Working within the broader finance team, this role is responsible for ensuring the accurate reporting of financial activity within the family office. Working within a multiple entity environment, key activities include preparing year end files, balance sheet maintenance, preparing monthly BAS & FBT returns, amongst others. A high level of confidentially is required for this role and the right person will be comfortable working within this environment. This role involves direct interactions with key family members and, as such, a high level of discretion is expected and required.

Key Responsibilities
* Preparing financial year end files.
* Preparing month end accounts (accruals, prepayments, etc.).
* Preparing statutory returns for companies and Trusts.
* Preparing BAS, FBT and income tax returns.
* Preparing reports and tax information for overseas entities (North America, Asia & Europe).
* Liaising with tax advisors, both local and international, to prepare returns.
* Preparing personal tax returns and managing personal payments of family members.
* Assist with ad‐hoc co‐sec activities.
* Supervising AP and bookkeeping activities.
* Resolving queries as they arise.
* Ad‐hoc tasks when appropriate.
About You

To succeed in this role, you will be a driven individual who is comfortable working in a professional family office environment. This role is 100% based in the office, and you will be comfortable collaborating with colleagues. The ideal person will come from a Business Advisory background and will be at Assistant Manager level, with hands on accounting experience, having trained in a mid‐tier firm. You will have exposure to a broad client base, with family office experience being advantageous but not essential.

* Minimum 4-5 years accounting experience.
* Must have experience preparing financial statements including statutory reporting of large proprietary companies and trusts.
* Experience of working in the business services / business advisory / outsourced function of a medium sized accounting firm.
* Minimum Assistant Manager or equivalent level.
* Experience of working in a private family‐owned business advantageous.
* Strong attention to detail and communication skills, both written and oral, essential.
