Are you a
Technical 3D Artist
who is obsessed with
VRM standards, hyper-expressive humanoid rigging,
and optimizing assets for
high-performance, real-time interactivity
?
Join a pioneering Melbourne-based AI Startup building the next generation of 3D
Humanoid
AI Avatar Companionship App. We need an ambitious Rigger to ensure our lightweight characters feel truly alive and responsive in real-time environments.
We're looking for a
VRM Technical Artist Intern
who wants to bridge the gap between complex 3D rigging and ultra-performant AI applications. You will focus entirely on designing and owning the VRM pipeline, managing Spring Bone physics, and integrating
humanoid
assets into Unity.
Tech Stack You'll Work With
* VRM Standard:
Deep dive into compliance, file structure, and portability across platforms.
* Physics Dynamics:
Mastering
Spring Bones
(Secondary Physics) for realistic hair/clothing movement.
* Rigging Software:
Blender or Maya
(focus on clean, VRM-compliant topology).
* Game Engine:
Unity
for asset integration, debugging, and physics/collider setup.
* Facial Animation:
Implementing and debugging
Blend Shapes/Morph Targets
driven by AI visemes.
* Pipeline Tools:
UniVRM, VRoid
workflows.
What You'll Do
* Design VRM Pipelines
: Create and document the end-to-end workflow for
humanoi
d asset creation, ensuring strict adherence to the VRM specification
* .Implement Dynamics
: Tune and perfect
Spring Bon
e physics settings on complex geometry (hair, accessories) to achieve natural, lag-free secondary movement in real-time
* .Facial Rigging
: Develop a high-quality library of
Blend Shape
s suitable for expressive, real-time, AI-driven facial animation and lip-sync
* .Performance Optimization
: Aggressively optimize VRM asset size, bone counts, and material setups for lightweight, high-frame-rate rendering
* .Integration & Debugging
: Assist the CTO in validating, integrating, and debugging VRM assets within the
Unit
y development environment
* .Technical Animation
: Create lightweight poses and short, seamless looping animations optimized for the VRM framework
.
