Palm Lake Care is an innovative organisation focused on ethical, sustainable aged care with seven existing communities and new ones in development.
Our dining philosophy recognises that meals are more than menus and play a key role in residents’ wellbeing. You will work with the Chef Manager in a kitchen focused on presentation, safety, nutrition and high-quality service.
Dining is a highlight of residents’ days and a chance to create social connections. Your role includes managing special diets and assisting in fulfilling residents’ dining wishes while meeting their needs.

Responsibilities 
- Assist the Chef Manager in the preparation, cooking and serving of meals while maintaining presentation standards.
- Manage dietary, nutrition and hydration requirements for residents.
- Support a safe and high-quality dining service within the kitchen and dining areas.
- Contribute to a positive dining experience that fosters social connections for residents.
- Work as part of a kitchen team with effective communication and collaboration.
Qualifications 
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or working towards).
- Two (2) years’ experience as a Chef/Cook.
- Good hygiene practices and awareness of Food Safety requirements.
- Effective communication skills and a focus on staff development.
- A Food Safety Supervisor Certificate is desirable.
- Experience in an Australian aged care facility is highly regarded.
- A positive attitude and empathy with elderly residents and their families.
