We are recruiting on behalf of a major NSW Government organisation delivering a landmark energy and infrastructure program. They are seeking an experienced Senior PMO Manager to lead cost governance, drive portfolio insights, and uplift project controls capability across a complex and high‑profile program of work.
In this senior position, you will lead the development and enforcement of robust cost management frameworks across a major government energy and infrastructure program. You will ensure compliance with cost standards, integrate cost controls with schedule, risk and procurement data, and deliver clear, executive‑ready portfolio insights. The role also drives assurance activities, strengthens governance, and embeds continuous improvement across project teams. Collaboration with senior leaders, finance, operational teams and Project Directors is central to uplifting capability and ensuring consistent, high‑quality cost performance across the portfolio.
Key Challenges
* Embedding cost governance that is effective, scalable and practical without adding unnecessary administrative burden.
* Engaging and influencing diverse senior stakeholders in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure and constantly evolving environment.
* Synthesising complex portfolio‑wide cost insights and integrating them with schedule, risk and commercial intelligence to support high‑quality decision‑making.
Qualifications
* Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Finance, Economics or a related discipline (essential).
* AACE certifications such as CCP, CEP or EVP (preferred but not essential).
* Additional PMO or project management certifications (P3O, AIPM CPPM, PMP, PRINCE2) highly regarded.

* Strong influencing and consensus‑building capability, with the ability to resolve complex issues.
* Flexible and adaptive planning approach, able to respond to change.
* Strategic analytical thinking and problem‑solving ability.
* Excellent communication skills, with a professional and values‑driven approach.
* Proven experience leading cost management across large‑scale renewable energy or transmission infrastructure programs.
* Advanced expertise in project controls, cost management, estimating, benchmarking, earned value management and portfolio reporting.
