Job Title: Mental Health Professional
This is a senior role that supports students with mild to moderate mental health concerns and works within the student support team to enhance wellbeing and mental health services.
* Assess client needs, develop care plans, connect clients with resources and services, advocate for their rights and offer emotional support.
* Operate in an advisory and advocacy capacity providing professional services specific to the social work discipline.
* Respond to the needs of the student population and school community by providing personal and family counselling, therapy and group work, facilitation for referrals to allied health professionals, and service and care coordination to assist student wellbeing and mental health.
* Support school communities in responding to critical incidents and emergencies as a part of the school response team.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:
* Degree in Social Work or related field.
* Registered with relevant professional body (e.g. AASW).
* Experience working in a similar role, preferably in an educational setting.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
