Staff Specialist Psychiatry Virtual Care Centre Job Description
The Mental Health Virtual Care Centre is a district-wide service delivering an evidence-based mental health rehabilitation program through a flexible mix of virtual and face-to-face care.
* It empowers participants to strengthen their mental health, build resilience, and develop practical skills and support systems to improve daily functioning, quality of life, and overall independence.
* It offers an exciting opportunity for experienced Consultant Psychiatrists to join a skilled multidisciplinary team that includes occupational therapy, nursing, and peer support.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide comprehensive psychiatric assessments, tailored interventions, and collaborative care planning in line with NICE Guidelines for a low-volume caseload of participants.
* Contribute to shaping recovery pathways and supporting participants to achieve meaningful, sustainable outcomes in their recovery journey.
* Work effectively with medical and other health services colleagues as part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare team and communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and staff.
Requirements
* Registration or eligible registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA).
* Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) and/or equivalent specialist recognition.
* Demonstrated subspecialty training in Psychiatry.
* Evidence of continuing medical education and self-monitoring/audit practices consistent with the scope of practice requirements.
* Proven capacity and/or experience in providing high-quality service in the specialty.
