About us:
Established in the 1940's, "North View" is a family-owned and operated farming business located at Ringarooma in the Northeast of Tasmania. This scenic fertile area is noted for being one of the most reliable dairying areas in Australia, because it is has both a high rainfall and reliable water for irrigation from various sources. It is also a beautiful relaxing spot.
We have a multi-enterprise business carrying over 1400 dairy cows plus replacements, a sizeable dairy x beef herd, and a contract potato production enterprise. We have a program of ongoing investment in infrastructure to enable best practice systems and efficiency and ease of management. Our approach is to operate the farm in a way that maximizes productive potential and in the process provides a fulfilling and pleasant lifestyle for the management and staff that depend on the business for a living.
We currently employ about 10 people, ranging from full-time, long term employees through to back packers that fill transitionary roles during the busy periods.
About the Position:
We are looking for a hard-working achiever to rapidly learn all aspects of our farming operation with the goal of gradually taking on the key roles of responsibility. The role includes general farm work, irrigation, tractor work, milking, and feeding of livestock. It is advantageous if you have some prior farming experience, but if not, we can train and mentor the right applicant.

You may have a rural background, but no dairy experience, or be someone working on a farm, but looking for the next challenge. Selection Criteria:
· A genuine demonstrated interest in cows/other animals.
· A track record of building strong, harmonious relationships with individuals and colleagues in past roles. If you've led a team to achieve good outcomes in a past job that is also advantageous.
· Demonstrated past achievement in any field.
· Proven history of working well as part of a team.
· Tractor and machinery skills.
· A track record of effective problem-solving skills and demonstrated success.
· Current driver's licence.
· Past experience living/working in a rural area is advantageous.
· A demonstrated commitment to improvement and learning.
