Our client, a leading oil and gas contractor, is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join their high-performing team in Perth. This is a pivotal role for a commercially astute professional with strong contracting and negotiation experience, ideally complemented by a legal background or extensive commercial experience gained in a fast-paced project environment.
The Role
Working closely with the executive, project and operations teams, you will be responsible for providing strategic commercial and contractual advice across the business. You'll manage the full contract lifecycle — from tendering and bid evaluation through to negotiation, execution and ongoing contract management — ensuring commercial outcomes are optimised and risks effectively mitigated.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and advise on the preparation and submission of tenders, bids, and proposals for major oil and gas projects
* Manage contract drafting, review, negotiation and administration from inception to completion
* Provide commercial risk assessment and develop strategies for project delivery and profitability
* Partner with internal stakeholders to drive commercial discipline and support operational decision-making
* Advise on claims, variations, and disputes, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and joint venture partners
About You
You are a confident and pragmatic commercial professional with a strong understanding of contracts, procurement and risk management in the resources or energy sector. You'll bring:
* A background in Law, Commerce, or Engineering with significant commercial management experience
* Experience in oil & gas, construction, or major projects environments
* Proven ability to manage end-to-end contracting and negotiation processes
